Mai Raftery (28/8/1945-10/1/2018) in honour of her first grandchild ~Sophie Cleo~
Story
In lieu of flowers to honour her recent passing, Mai Raftery requested donations to Bears of Hope Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support to go to her packages which have a Sophie Bear (named after her first grandchild ~Sophie Cleo~ who was born sleeping on 14 December 2008). Thousands of parents are affected by the loss of a baby every year in Australia and are in need of support to help them navigate this devastating grief journey. For every $100 raised, a Sophie Bear of Hope will be donated in loving memory of ~Sophie Cleo~ to provide comfort, support and guidance to families in the immediate days of their loss and beyond.

We provide exclusive and invaluable support programs that include a credible foundation of parent led and psychologist facilitated support groups, private online peer to peer support communities, phone, face to face, online and email counselling and annual community events that remember individual baby’s and recognize their parents love. Bears Of Hope comfort, acknowledge, inform, empower, and guide families during their time of loss and beyond.
As a registered non-profit organisation we are dedicated to the care of others and reinvesting our finances and resources to ensure the mental health needs and wellbeing of parents are being met and embraced for as long as as required.
